The JSON scheme for ITR-7 filing has been authorized by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The Income-tax department has provided free return preparation software in the downloads section that complies with all data quality requirements. The government also pointed out that certain commercially accessible software or websites provide return preparation services. To avoid rejection of returns due to poor data quality or mistakes in the return, taxpayers should check these validation standards to ensure that the software they use meets these requirements. To avoid causing inconvenience to taxpayers who may use their services, software suppliers are strongly recommended to follow the guidelines. In the event of a violation, the return preparation utility/software in question may be blacklisted without warning, and the blacklisting will be disclosed on the e-filing website. No returns utilizing blacklisted software will be allowed to be uploaded until the software developer can give details of the product’s repair.
