The EM-II and/or Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum’s Validity Has Been Extended To March 31, 2022

Businesses that are currently functioning under the MSME category can continue to use their Entrepreneurs Memorandum-II (EM-II) and/or Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) registrations. The validity of two MSME licenses, which were extended from March 2021 to December 31, 2021 (after the launch of the Udyam portal in July 2021), will be extended for a period of time to allow such MSMEs to migrate to the new portal and continue to receive government benefits.

The ministry issued a notification revising the definition of MSMEs and introducing the Udyam Registration procedure, which is a new process for MSME registration. The present MSME registration (Udyog Aadhaar Number (UAN) or EM) would become valid till March 31, 2022.
