On June 6, 2022, the government established the “Jan Samarth” portal to offer a centralised location for applying for loans through specific credit-linked government programmes.
The following are the key characteristics of the “Jan Samarth” Portal:
- It establishes a forum for communication between all parties involved, including beneficiaries, financial institutions, federal and state governments, and nodal agencies.
- The 13 credit-linked government programmes for youth, students, entrepreneurs, and farmers, including education loans, agricultural loans, business activity loans, and livelihood loans, are initially available to applicants.
Using the “Jan Samarth” Portal streamlines the loan application and disbursement processes for applicants. Through the 24/7 Jan Samarth Portal, any applicant or recipient can register, determine their eligibility for a number of government programmes, and apply for a loan.
