Prosecution of Sexual Harassment at Workplace in Digital Era
On 11th January 2021, the Jaipur bench of the Rajasthan High Court observed that in the digital age, if a complaint is filed in a different State from the accused it would be considered for prosecuting the person for sexual harassment at the workplace.
The Chief Manager of the Bank of Baroda was accused of harassing a woman of the same branch but posted in a different State through obscene messages that were sent beyond working hours. It was held that even if the employee is working in the bank and who has worked earlier in the same branch and later on shifted to another branch and later on shifted to another branch which may be situated in a different State shall be treated completely as ‘one workplace’ on a digital platform.
ESIC Beneficiaries availing Emergency Health Services in Private Hospital
In one of the notification of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), it has now permitted that insured persons and beneficiaries to avail health services in any nearby hospital. (ESIC Official)
The treatment in the empanelled private hospital will be cashless and in a non-empanelled private hospital, there would be compensation or reimbursement as per Central Government Health Services Rates (CGHS). If there is no ESIC empanelled private hospital nearby within 10 kilometres range then the subscribers are permitted to get health services in a non-empanelled private hospital and there is no need for a referral from ESI dispensary or hospital. Through the online system, the ESIC approving authority will permit the empanelled hospital to grant admission for indoor treatment.
Tamil Nadu to become 11th State to become One Nation One Ration card system reform
- Recently, Tamil Nadu has become the 11th State in the country to undertake the ‘One Nation One Ration Card System’ reform stipulated by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. ‘
