The nationwide lockdown has been extended until 3rd May, 2020 to curb the transmission of COVID-19.  The lockdown has been extended by having feedback from many states and individuals to prevent the creation of new coronavirus hotspots. Here the highlights from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation:

  • Increased vigilance in the next one week
  • Till 20th April, every district will be evaluated and districts that prevent Covid-19 spread will get some relaxations
  • New Guidelines will be detailed by tomorrow i.e. 15th April, 2020
  • Proper facilities has been made in hospitals by increasing beds for patients and more than 600 hospitals are now working to stop the spread of COVID-19

PM Modi sought cooperation from citizen on the following seven points:

  • To ensure the health and safety of the elderly people living in the society
  • To Follow social distancing and use of homemade masks
  • To boost your immunity by following guidelines issued by the Ayush Ministry
  • Download and use the Aarogya Setu mobile app
  • To help the poor and the needy people
  • To have empathy for people employed in your business and not to terminate their services
  • Respect coronavirus warriors such as nurses and all the health workers
