CBIC has established a dedicated Helpdesk to assist trade, industry, and individuals with customs clearance of COVID-related imports, such as oxygen and oxygen-related equipment.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has established a dedicated helpdesk to answer questions about Covid-related imports and to assist trade, industry, and individuals with customs clearance. As you are aware, the Government of India is committed to ensuring that COVID-related imports pass through customs smoothly and quickly, so that they meet their intended users/beneficiaries on time.
The Department receives inquiries and demands from a variety of sources. These concerns the availability of duty exemption privileges, clearance procedures, and different ministries’ registration requirements, among other things. A dedicated cell I has been developed by the CBIC to streamline this process and respond to all trade queries and grievances.
To help with clearances, an online form has been developed at this URL ( https://t.co/IAOQenWwO2) that allows you to request information in a standardised format and have your concerns addressed as soon as possible. Users can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the toll-free number 1800-3010-1000 with general questions. Requests submitted at Helpdesk will be closely monitored in order to resolve them as quickly as possible.
In light of the raging pandemic, the government has extended several deadlines.
Due to the extreme Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the country and affecting the lives of our citizens, and in response to requests from taxpayers, tax consultants, and other stakeholders, various time barring dates, which were previously extended to April 30, 2021 by various notifications, as well as under the Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Act, 2020, may be further extended., the Government has extended certain timelines today.
